1. Why is social media important in the workplace?
I think that communication and collaboration is important to social media in that work place. Collective editing makes teamwork easier, which can increase productivity and efficiency. Social media can be used to leverage communication internally and externally.
2. What is social media?
Social media is websites and applications used for networking. Its is an interaction among people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities.
3. What are two examples of social media used for business/ in the workplace?
I think 2 examples would be Twitter and Facebook. With Twitter you can post upcoming events or sell your product. And if anyone have any questions you can tweet them right back. Its just like instant messaging or sending a text. Also with Facebook you can do the same and post pictures right along with it.
4. What is a blog? What are two ways it might be used for business?
Blogs are well based journals posted online. It allow you to create diary entries, consisting of observations, thoughts, insights, and opinions. Blogging can be a corporate tool for communicating with customers or employees to share knowledge and expertise. Also it provides good information for your customers while being timely and fun can add a new dimension to your website and your products.
5. Have you ever used a blog, either personal or professional?
I have never used a blog until now as an assignment and I don’t plan on blogging anymore after the class is over.
